The School of Botanical Arts & Sciences
Choosing the right herbalism and aromatherapy school for yourself can be daunting. What factors to consider in making your decision include:
🌿 the skill of the instructor's ability to convey information and support students plus the degree of knowledge and experience the teachers offer
🌿 the value system and philosophy of the school's teachers
🌿 the school's unique approach to natural health (holistic or allopathic approach)
🌿 to what extent the entire school team is truly engaged in each and every student's success.
Here at Healing Harvest Homestead School of Botanical Arts & Sciences, we have it all.
Heidi Villegas is a lifelong learner, and she's been a teacher of humans for around 45 years--the majority of her life! She's taught ages from preschool to 10th grade primarily in the areas of intermediate elementary, middle school mathematics, professional development for adults, and later in her career, special education for those with disabilities. Her love for people and supporting the learning process for all exudes from her.
She began her herbalism and aromatherapy education about 20 years ago, long before there were online courses available to take. She has enjoyed working with clients so they might enjoy the improved health she experiences, and now she teaches thousands for this same reason.
Heidi has also owned and operated a successful herbal products business, and has been actively teaching herbalism in person and now online since about 2012 when she worked closely with community, clients, customers of products, and held local workshops. Since around 2016, she took her herbal expertise online to serve a greater number of students.
These life experiences have given her a broad base of valuable wisdom. She's taught thousands of students to bring herbalism into their lives, their communities, and many have even started their own businesses!
Heidi teaches herbalism from a Christian perspective, which is an important differentiator--a view of God as Creator of our plant gifts. Her approach is holistic and vitalistic, and she believes in the power of mental and emotional wellness being taught alongside physical and health.
SOBAS offers inspiring and balanced courses, from specialty workshops to longer, in-depth and intensive coursework. The school is growing, so be sure to check back often for more offerings.
Heidi and her team are actively engaged in the HHH SOBAS private student communities (all are OFF social media), and every single student is valued and important. In fact, our learning community is appreciated as one of the best features of many in our learning offerings.
Students aren't just left to do things on their own. We offer an incredible amount of support.
The School of Botanical Arts & Sciences offers vibrant, science and evidence-based, supportive, and innovative herbal and aromatherapy programs. Join us for a course today! There's something for everyone here.
Our mission: A safe, effective herbalist in every extended family
Traditional knowledge of plant medicine has been stolen from us over the past 150 years by certain powerful entities. Currently laws in some developed countries point to the fact that herbalism is under attack by these same powerful entities. We can see this taking place in Canada, Europe, and the United States right now. It's time to learn herbalism, the people's medicine, NOW before it's too late.
As both a community/clinical herbalist and professional level aromatherapist, Heidi knows there's a place for both studies in your practice. She's an expert at teaching them both skills concurrently in her family and community herbalism courses so students feel safe and confident in their practical uses. This is unusual in the herbalism world of learning as most schools only focus on one or the other.
Herbalism and aromatherapy are grassroots knowledge that everyone is entitled to practice and know. In fact, the mission at Healing Harvest Homestead is to be pivotal in getting an herbalist into every extended family. Heidi is committed to creating the highest quality educational experience for her students. In fact, you'll enjoy her in-person teachings in several of her longer more intensive courses. She's a teacher who shows up in real life for you.
As the School of Botanical Arts & Sciences evolves and grows, Heidi continues to reflect on the best ways to teach students interactively, with quality, and at all different levels. Heidi creates curriculum for new courses often, and more certification courses are coming. New valuable content that is heavily researched is also added monthly to our Confident Herbalist membership.
She's excited to continue to nurture a thriving herbal-aromatic community that provides exceptional support for all individuals. She's on the path with you!
